Description
The Office of State Archaeology (OSA), as set forth under state law, is charged with identifying known
archaeological resources of Kentucky as established by the Kentucky Antiquities Act of 1962. Regarding
those obligations and to reduce processing time for Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) projects,
first, OSA will prioritize all KYTC project record reviews (site checks) as they are received. Second, OSA
will prioritize review and registration of new archaeological site numbers for all highway-related
