Description

The Council on Postsecondary Education has responsibility for directing the development and implementation of the Kentucky Strategic Plan fOf Public Health Education and Research wtth the Programs of Public Health at Eastern Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University, and Schools of Public Health at the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville, including the responsibility to mobilize postsecondary resources to meet Kentucky's pressing public health needs. The Strategic Plan focuses on postsecondary education's contribution to Kentucky's public health through meeting both current and future needs of the public health workforce and enhancing Kentucky universities' competitiveness in attracting extramural research funding to address health problems for both Kentucky and the nation. The University of Kentucky's School of Public Health, on becoming an accredited program shall provide easy access to public health education, and career paths for the educational advancement of public health workers in the Commonwealth.
