Raul Villanueva – 2022 KY Soybean Promotion Board Proposal Title: Impact of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug in Soybeans Abstract: The entomology team of the REC-Princeton found that the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) starting its colonization of Western KY soybean fields in 2020, areas where reports in soybean field were absent before that year. In 2020 we quantify the expansion and in 2020 we observed that speciation ratios have been changed positioned the BMSB as the second most abundant species after the green stink bug. This project will study the impact of BMSB in commercial soybean fields of KY.
