Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Farmers around Kentucky are successfully planting corn into rye cover crop but have some questions
about the best management practices. Each producer is trying his or her own methods, including strip
tillage, early burndown, late burndown, crimping, starter fertilizer, in]furrow fungicides, etc.
I have found a very strong graduate student and we would like to investigate some of these questions.
Dan Quinn is current a Masterfs student a Michigan State and he has been working on nitrogen
management in corn and wheat in Michigan. He has a research history that has prepared him for this
research project.
