Suicide Prevention, Education, and Treatment

Abstract: Our project (Community Education and Intervention Program - CEIP) will deliver monthly community sessions to educate over 500 Kentuckians in veteran suicide awareness and prevention utilizing the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) model. We will also provide individual assessment and therapy support to veterans and their families within Kentucky through telehealth mental health services. With the funding provided, we estimate that this project will provide up to 2500 hours of mental health care to Kentucky veterans and their families. The CEIP will also contribute to strengthening the future mental health workforce in Kentucky as this program is being implemented by the College of Education Counseling Psychology training program at the University of Kentucky.
