Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The Center for Innovation in Education was established at the University of Kentucky in early 2013 with three years of funding from the William and Flora Hewlett foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to support systems-wide shifts to deeper learning. This proposal requests funding in the amount of $618,250 over two years to supplement grant 2015-2246, which provided support for a major new initiative to incentivize and support transformation of state and local systems of assessment – the Assessment for Learning Project. With funds requested, we propose to extend impact of the initiative by expanding the grantee pool to include two new grantee learning partners, who were in the finalist pool, and fully fund a proposal that could only be partially funded in the first round: Leadership Public Schools, the Large Countywide and Suburban District Consortium, and Lodestar, a Lighthouse Community Public Charter School.
