Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Sub grantee, through a historic preservation consultant, agrees to carry out a thematic survey
of Casey County, Kentucky, focusing on rural landscapes and their relation to the hamlets and
crossroad communities they border. The consultant will survey historic properties in the
proposed project area, including houses, outbuildings, and landscape features.
The proposed project area focuses on four USGS quadrangles within Casey County: Ellisburg,
Mintonville, Phil, and Yosemite. This survey will document 20 sites within each quadrangle,
with particular emphasis on rural schools, churches, and stores within crossroads communities
and their relationship to the neighboring farm landscapes.
