Grants and Contracts Details
Description
To address the problem of post-harvest storage losses, USDA will seek to identify appropriate interventions
at each level of the commodity storage infrastructure that will result in improved practices in grain and food
storage and handling for a number of different staple commodities. The first step in this process will be for
USDA/FAS to field a TDY consisting of a team of two grain storage and handling specialists to conduct an
assessment of the grain storage facililties and predominant grain handling practices in the country. Where
appropriate, the team will also consult with local industry, especially milling (wheat, feed) companies to develop
potential in-country training programs on commodity storage and handling.
