The Impact of Sterol Biogenesis on Cellulose Synthesis in Higher Plants

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The specific objectives are: 1) identify and characterize additional sterol/lipid mutants and corresponding chemical inhibitors affecting cellulose synthesis, 2) investigate the in vivo role of steryl glucosides (SGs) in cellulose synthesis, and 3) determine the influence of sterol and SG composition on plasma membrane and DRM functions in relation to cellulose synthesis.
