  • Neyra Lozano, Javier (PI)

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Dr. Neyra and Dr. Drew will lead the project and focus on the study design, data analysis and interpretation of the data for all Aims (Aims 1, 2 and 3). Dr. Neyra and Dr. Drew will share the responsibility for the evaluation of all aspects of the project. Dr. Neyra will also focus on the performance evaluation of soluble klotho measurements, specifically the assurance of satisfactory quality control and technical procedures for soluble klotho measurements using the IP-IB assay. To compare a standard commercial klotho assay with a novel klotho assay in persons with CKD (Aim 1) To determine the relationship of baseline soluble klotho concentrations with subsequent risk of CVD events, CKD progression, and all-cause death in persons with CKD (Aim 2) To determine whether randomization to intensive BP lowering affects soluble klotho concentrations and the relationship of klotho with kidney glomerular vs. tubular function (Aim 3)
