The TIES Center: Increasing Time, Instructional Effectiveness, Engagement, and State Support for Inclusive Practices for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities. The University of Kentucky will develop and install training materials, establish communities of practice in communication for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Communication is an essential component of successful inclusive education in increasing instructional time and instructional effectiveness. Yet, in practice communication supports require training and technical assistance for fidelity of implementation resulting in communicative competence and successful inclusion in general education.
