Therapeutic Advances in Aortopathies

2022 AHA MERIT Award Abstract The purpose of this application is to compliment support for a focus on developing insight into mechanisms of region-specific differences of aortopathies, which is a major area of unmet medical need in cardiovascular therapy. This is via an NHLBI R35 mechanism This support period is almost identical to the duration that is provided by the MERIT award, if successful. With the extensive infrastructure that I have developed at the University of Kentucky, my intent for the MERIT award is to validate and determine the efficacy of novel therapeutic approaches to various aortopathies.
