Therapeutics Development Network 2014-2015

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Our key success this year was to increase our enrollment in TDN interventional studies despite a significant loss in personnel. We improved from 68th in 2013 to 45th in 2014 for enrollment in interventional studies. Funding from the TDN grant has continued to allow us to maintain two outstanding full-time clinical research nurses assisting us in cystic fibrosis clinical research. Tammy Watts, RN, has worked with us for 6 years and assisted with clinical research for the last 5 years. Brittany Fuller, RN has now been with us for 4 years. Vickie Whitehead, BSN, is the nurse supervisor for all research now in the Department of Pediatrics. Although she is a skilled research nurse with 16 years of clinical research experience and a good mentor for our nurses, she no longer is able to help with any of the day to day activities of our TDC clinical research. In addition, Amanda Anderson, who helped with IRB submissions and regulatory duties left to have a baby and was not replaced by the department. Thus, we only have our two nurses to help with study implementation, maintenance, and regulatory responsibilities.
