Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The goals of the TDN infrastructure support are to: Ensure dedicated CF Research Coordinator time commensurate with site size, "fill in the gaps in funding" due to: Studies not being fully compensated for coordinator time. Cover activities that are otherwise uncompensated, such as time spent establishing a culture of research, quality improvement activities, and training of staff At sites with many studies, allow hiring of additional staff to increase efficiencies and ability to complete studies optimally. and Better access to patients with CF to clinical trials by broadening geographic distribution. The funding model established last year better distributes the total amount of funding allocated to the TDN by accounting for the wide vaiation in both site size and activity. The same model will be used again this year. Given the greater number of patients enrolled in studies over the last 12 months, the CFFT has proposed an increase to the total funding provided to the TDN for 2014. We are therefore pleased to report that many sites will see a modest increase in their funding amounts for 2014.
