Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The objectives of this project are to: 1) Conduct a literature review of current state of practice for subsurface drainage of pavement structures. 2) Identif) cun'ent and past medlodologies used by KentucJ.:y for subsurface drainage. such as drainage blankets. daylighted granular vase and edge drains. 3) Identif) "pes of projects/construction techniques that would require various drainage treatments such as rock roadbed and stabilized subgrade. 4) Work closelv with the Kentucl-:y Transportation Cabinet to identif)' the candidate pr~iects with and without drainage sv'stems to evaluate their perfonnance. 5) \1ake appropriate recommendations for potential design changes based on the ev'aluation of the performance of pavements with drainage s),stems.
