Description
The purpose of this program is to acheive four program goals through community interventions and mobilization: counter-marketing; policy development and implementation; and surveillance and evaluation.
The goals are to prevent initiation to tobacco use among young people; eliminiate exposure to secondhand smoke; promote cessation among adults and young people who use tobacco; and identify and eliminate tobacco-related disparities among specific poulation groups.
This funding is for the position of Coordinator and a Research Assistant of the state pregnancy and smoking Pilot: GIFTS (Giving Infancts and Families Tobaccco Free Starts), who shall serve as members of the Leadership Team.
