Description
Dr. Cale Jacobs will serve as site PI on the current proposal at 20% effort in all years.
He brings over 13 years of contributions to clinical research studies in several orthropaedic subspecialties.
He has been involved in the planning, execution, and analysis of clinical research studies that focused on the potential health benefits of new approaches to knee and
hip arthroscopy and arthroplasty, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgical reconstruction, and various rehabilitative strategies.
He has a 2-year collaboration with Dr. Vranceanu which resulted in 2 publications and 2 pending NIH grant submissions.
He will be responsible for all study activities in all years and will participate in weekly team meeting to report on recruitment, retention and other study milestones.
He will help develop the training materials (scripts videos) to facilitate study referrals. Dr. Jacobs will work closely with Drs. Vranceanu and Ring, respectively, and communicate all progress and updates for the Kentucky site.
Dr. Jacobs’s expertise is pivotal in aim 1 and aim 2 activities, as well as in the submission of the subsequent UG3/UH3.
His role will be particularly important in ensuring buy in from the orthopedic and staff members at all sites. Dr. Jacobs will work closely with Dr. Matuszeski and the research assistant to ensure
recruitment, retention, and the high scientific rigor of study activities.
Further, the partnership will allow access to the wide array of resources available at University of Kentucky.
