Training Resource Center: Medically Fragile Program

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The medically fragile training program provides orientation, training, and support to families providing care to the child with complex medical needs, throughout Kentucky. Families under contract to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, private child caring agencies, social workers, and respite providers attend the initial and advanced training courses. The initial training, Join Hands Together, is required for all families before they are certified to provide medically fragile care. Seven advanced curricula have been developed to assist families with meeting their required training needs. A medically fragile list serve is maintained by this program to provide families with notifications of policy changes, training opportunities, and medical updates. Goal: The medically fragile training program will provide training and support, statewide, to families caring for the child with complex medical needs.
