Turf Management/Agricultural Education Professional Development

This two-day workshop will provide practicing agriculture teachers with the necessary content information for teaching s ubjects, units, and a course in turf management. The information will incorporate mathematical and science practices, through practical application and exercises. Teachers will learn new techniques in irrigation, turf equipment use and maintenance, seeding and fertilizer practices, turf schedules, diseases, and integrated pest management. The training will take place throughout the campus at the University of Kentucky, primarily the sports turf facilities and plant and land sciences department. This workshop is limited to 25 participants.
