UK Cooperative Extension Service Agriculture Water Quality Education
ABSTRACT
The University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service will detail Cooperative Extension Service
personnel to serve as technical advisors and outreach/education specialists on nonpoint source pollution
issues, specifically focused on agriculture, backyard streams, and mixed-use watersheds. Personnel will
work through the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet for the purpose of assisting agencies in
monitoring the development of topics related to water quality; in educating the Commonwealth’s
landowners on the requirements of the KY Agriculture Water Quality Act and related statutes and
regulations; and provide training opportunities to agricultural and water quality professionals on issues
relating to nonpoint source pollution.
