Description

The University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service will detail a Cooperative Extension Service Water Quality Specialist to serve as an Agriculture Water Quality Liaison and a full-time Cooperative Extension Service Associate to serve as a Nutrient Management Planner. Personnel will work through the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet for the purpose of assisting agencies in monitoring the development of topics related to water quality; in educating the Commonwealth’s landowners on the requirements of the KY Agriculture Water Quality Act and related statutes and regulations; assist farmers in the development and implementation of KY Agriculture Water Quality Plans and nutrient management plans; and provide training opportunities to agricultural and water quality professionals on issues relating to nonpoint source pollution.
