Description

The Kentucky Division of Forestry (Cabinet), in conjunction with the Kentucky Forest Stewardship Coordinating Committee, has petitioned the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, to obtain a grant to provide technical, multi-disciplinary forest stewardship assistance to Kentucky non-industrial private forest landowners. This assistance is to be provided as part of the Forest Stewardship Program as authorized by the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, and first enacted by the 1990 Food, Agriculture, Conservation and Trade Act. The University of Kentucky Research Foundation (UKRF), on behalf of the University of Kentucky, Department of Forestry is hereby funded in an effort to provide technical training assistance to the natural resource professionals of the Cabinet and also promote the stewardship program by producing brochures, pamphlets, bulletins and newsletters for technical outreach support in educating non-industrial private forest landowners.
