Description

The University of Kentucky shall provide two epidemiologists and a Hepatitis Prevention Coordinator and Co-Infection Specialist, an End the HIV Epidemic Coordinator, and four part time HIV/AIDS Regional Coordinators that are key personnel positions for the funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) cooperative agreement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky. These positions shall be required to collect, review analyze and report on incidence and prevalence of HIV/AIDS infection within the state as mandated by law, as a basis for planning, implementation and evaluation on prevention and control programs. The positions shall be responsible for interpretation of laws, regulations, policies and procedures for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) program to ensure compliance with state and federal disease reporting requirements. The End the HIV Epidemic Coordinator and four part time HIV/AIDS Regional Coordinators are responsible for strategic planning with stakeholders that will result in a statewide plan to end HIV. The University of Kentucky shall provide an Immunization Branch Nurse Manager which is key personnel for the funding from the CDC cooperative agreement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This position serves as the focal point for management of the statewide immunization program. Overall purview and charge includes branch management, policy development, standards setting, monitoring, quality control, staff development, and technical assistance.
