Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Abstract: Together, the University of Kentucky (UK) Visual Impairment Program and Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) will offer the fifth annual pre- employment summer program titled: Plans to Achieve Transition (PATH). This program is intended for high school students who have just completed their sophomore or junior year and are blind, visually impaired, or DeafBlind. It focuses on employability and blindness skills, such as braille, orientation and mobility, technology, and home management skills. Due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, the program has been modified from previous years. PATH will consist of a two-week online summer program, in addition to four three-day in-person sessions (as safety allows) at various locations across Kentucky throughout the school year.
