CCD-KHC Abstract
The University of Kentucky Center for Crop Diversi?cation team will receive funding from
the Kentucky Horticulture Council to pay for an undergraduate fellowship. The CCD Fellow
will work with the CCD Team (led by Brett WolF) and engage in a variety of planned
extension and research activities including developing publications, collecting price data,
attending meetings and other events, and assisting with other research and extension
activities. The Fellowship will run from May 15 to August 15.
Problem statement/Industry Impact:
The horticulture industry in Kentucky is an important and growing part of the agricultural
economy. This fellowship will give a student and opportunity to familiarize themselves with
the market, technical needs, and extension opportunities with this agricultural community.
The industry will bene?t by receiving multiple outputs, publications, and visibility (see
items below). Integrating these activities into undergraduate experiences helps to build
horticulture allies among future agriculture professionals and allows the industry and
producers of the state to interact with the student and university in new ways.
