Description
Abstract
The Healthcare Readiness Contracting Office (Provisional), Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston, Texas has a requirement for university affiliation for a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and associated services. The requirement is for a university to grant university graduate credit and an MSW degree to students who successfully complete the Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S) MSW Program. The MSW Program spans over 14 months and consists of two phases: a foundation and an advanced concentration phase. The foundation phase is approximately 32 semester hours and the advanced concentration phase consists of approximately 29 semester hours. The MSW Program will include a minimum of 900 hours of block field practicum instruction. The contractor shall be accredited by one of six regional accrediting associations and maintain recognition by the US Department of Education or the Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation throughout the life of the contract. In addition, the contractor’s MSW Program shall maintain accreditation under current Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) standards. The anticipated contract will have a 5-year ordering period from19 September 2016 – 18 September 2017. The class start date is on or about 1 February 2018, however the contractor will be required to perform activities such as a curriculum review and student enrollment prior to the class start date.
