Description
The liaison, working through the University of Kentucky, will integrate the Kentucky Agriculture
Water Quality Act (KAWQA) and nonpoint source pollution (NPS) information into all aspects of
agriculture education and technical assistance programs by assembling and disseminating
information on Kentucky agriculture water quality, networking among agencies and partners, and
producing educational and informational materials. The lead agency is the UK-CES and the
primary partners are the KY Division of Conservation (DOC), KY Division of Water, KY
Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the KY Ag Water
Quality Authority.
The liaison position will be positioned to accurately reflect the evolvement and development of
water quality related programs to the UK-CES, DOC and the Authority. The incorporation of
these identified water quality programs and related environmental concerns by the UK-CES, DOC,
and the Authority will result in a positive impact on the quality of water throughout Kentucky.
