“University of Kentucky Pilot and Feasibility Research Program”, subcontract to “Washington University
Diabetes Research Center”
This project involves collaborative activities between diabetes/metabolism investigators at Washington
University in St. Louis (WUSTL) and the University of Kentucky (UK). Funds administered by UK will be used
to support pilot studies that will enhance the ability of UK investigators to perform diabetes research, and
which will also be of interest to investigators at WUSTL.
Administrative costs:
Philip A. Kern, MD, site PI. 3.0% effort will be devoted to the administration of this project with WUSTL.
Two pilot studies will be supported at $40,000/each, during each year of this award. These funds will be used
to defray the costs of salaries, supplies, and other expenses.
UK and WUSTL investigators will participate in each other’s “Diabetes Day”, which will involve the presentation
of research findings.
