Grants and Contracts Details
Description
This proposal serves as the first of its kind to analyze working hardware, which previously functioned on the Internation Space Station, as a partnership between NASA and an academic institution. We will develop protocols that allow analyses of hardware post-orbit leveraging collaborations between NASA KY and the University of Kentucky. During almost constant use for 10 years, the Bionetics SSLM experienced levels of cosmic radiation and microgravity conditions. A team has been assembled with mechanical and electrical expertise to inspect and test the light module for degredation and reliability differences from a light module of the same era that did not operate in space.
