Update of the Kentucky Strategic Highway Safety Plan, RQS12 1071

To update crash and other data included in the 2010 Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) with supporting documentation and statistics available through 2011. Specifically, the 2010 SHSP titled ¡§Toward Zero Deaths¡¨ will be reviewed and edited to reflect the status of each of the following emphasis areas: „h Aggressive Driving „h Commercial Vehicle Safety „h Distracted Driving „h Drive Smart Safety Corridors (to be eliminated or replaced with system approach) „h Impaired Driving „h Incident Management „h Motorcycles „h Occupant Protection „h Roadway Departure „h Traffic Records „h Young Drivers „h Legislative Issues Crash and other data will be collected and summarized for 2010 and 2011 to supplement data presented in the 2010 update for the years 2003 through 2009. All updated data and emphasis area information will be documented and incorporated into Kentucky¡¦s Strategic Highway Safety Plan. The following specific tasks will be accomplished: Task 1 Update crash and other statistical data for 2010 and 2011. Task 2 Review and edit SHSP emphasis area summaries to reflect current status. Task 3 Meet with or contact emphasis area teams to obtain updated objectives, goals, and strategies. Task 4 Document results as an updated 2012 SHSP, with goals for 2013-2016.
