OB.TECTIVES: The objectives oflhe project are to: I) Test the application of using ground penetrating radar (GPR) for rapid inspection of bridge decks to detect areas of deterioration for future rehabilitation; 2) Test different antennas to determine best frequency for bridge deck inspection; 3) Develop standard testing practices for bridge deck inspection using GPR; 4) Develop standard specifications outlining the anticipated tolerances and acceptance leve ls produced by GPR results; and 5) Compare GPR's ability to determine concrete cover over steel reinforcement for acceptance testing of new concrete. overl ays to th at of the pachometer.
