Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The proposed study will develop an optimized SDAM/OPC concrete by evaluating the issues that prevent utilization of this material in the concrete industry. These issues include potential for expansion, slow hydration, and slow strength development. The controlling mechanisms for these issues will be investigated and controlled by evaluating the influence of methods, supplementary materials, and additives on the performance and dimensional stability of concrete made with SDAM. The resulting optimized SDAM concrete from the study will be utilized in a large-scale application and monitored for quality and performance.
