Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky (AM@UK) has a strong record of photography programs due to its Robert C. May Endowment which funds renowned lecture and exhibition series featuring visiting artists ranging from Elliott Erwitt to Carrie Mae Weems and annual photography acquisitions. The museum now plans to increase visibility of its own outstanding collection of 1321 photographs which features many of the major artists of the 20th and 21st century by organizing an exhibition (provisionally) titled Wide Angle: American Photographs at the Art Museum at the University of Kentucky. Focused engagement activities will include: creations of online web pages with images and information about major exhibition themes and a link to download teacher resources; and a slate of public lectures and workshops.
