Description
The !fentucky Geological Survey (KGS) proposes to host a one-day workshop to discuss future
coal quality research programs that are conducted and supported by the USGS. Approximately
15 to 20 participants will be invited from constituencies that include State and Federal coal
researchers, coal companies, utility companies, geologic and engineering consultants, and
government policy makers. KGS will design a program of presentations and discussion sessions
in conssultation with staff of the USGS Energy Program. The University of Kentucky will
provide meeting facilities as well necessary equipment and amenities. The workshop will be
scheduled at a time that is convenient for all parties.
