WUKY Emergency Alert & Storm Hardening Project Funding

UK will provide the Central Kentucky community with critical and essential emergency communications via WUKY radio during times of crisis. UK will purchase and install an emergency generator and transfer switch at WUKY's main transmission site; construct an ice bridge at the site to protect this equipment and purchase & install an early warning alert system on UK's main campus through 8 Emergency Phone Towers with Wide Area Emergency Broadcast System and 3 Wide Area Emergency Broadcast System Wall Mount Units. Installation of the emergency notification broadcast towers would be strategically placed across the campus to provide the highest visibility and reach the most recipients through the public announcement speakers used for natural disaster warnings. The effective date on this contract will be from January 30, 2011 to September 30,2013. EFT is the required method of payment for reimbursement.
