Abstract: Young Parent Coalition Evaluation
The purpose of this evaluation project is to evaluate the implementation of, and
outcomes associated with Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey’s (PCA-NJ) Young Parent
Coalition (YPC) initiative and fatherhood enhancement efforts. Using a sequential,
mixed-methods research approach quantitative and qualitative data will be gathered to
determine the YPC’s ability to strengthen young parents’ protective factors. The
evaluation project will be divided into two parts. Part 1 of the evaluation project will
involve using secondary data that will include participant demographic or programmatic
data, including surveys and pre/post measurements and surveys we create for meetings
and events with professionals in the coalition. In part 2 of the evaluation project, we will
use interviews and focus groups to gather qualitative data from the study participants.
