Abstract

In the title compound, C18H16N2O 3, the indole ring is planar and the two adjacent carbonyl groups are mutually trans oriented with a torsion angle of 144.8(3)°. The single C - C bond linking the two carbonyl functionalities is 1.539(4)Å. Molecules are linked into a two-dimensional network by intermolecular N - H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
