Abstract

The chemical structure and properties of 2,4,5-Trichlorobiphenyl were investigated. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings in the compound, C12H7Cl3, was 47.25 (4)°. This compound was synthesized in 52% yield by the Suzuki coupling of 2,4,5-trichlorobenzene withe phenylboronic acid. The results show that dihedral angle of the dihydroxy polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) bound to protein was 30°, while the calculated solution and the solid-state dihedral angle of the neat dihydroxy PCB were 42 and O°.
