Abstract
The effectiveness of the uniform multilevel fast multipole algorithm (UMLFMA) was demonstrated using numerical examples. The UMLFMA is an important component of a fast high-order integral equation model for electromagnetic scattering from inhomogeneous objects. The UMLFMA incorporates a spectral extrapolation procedure to reduce the number of spectral samples required for a given accuracy. A least-squares procedure is used to compute the translation operator from sparse samples of the Green function. The results show the high accuracy and feasibility of using the UMLFMA.
