N2 - In this paper, fault detection is examined using condition systems. The method presented relies on existing results for controller synthesis using these models. First we present a generalized discussion of the controller module called a taskblock. Then a method to incorporate on-line fault detection into the taskblock framework is presented. We show that the resulting modified controller module is effective for control and detection.
