A sixth order finite difference scheme for the convection diffusion equation

Abstract

Using the Richardson extrapolation technique and an operator interpolation scheme, we develop a sixth order finite difference scheme for solving one- and two-dimensional convection diffusion equations. The sixth order difference scheme is based on the fourth order compact difference scheme.
