Abstract
Advances in the widespread applications of nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques may be achieved through new paradigms of visualization. The use of advanced visualization technologies with NDT for increased accuracy in the interpretation of ultrasonic C-scan data is described. Advanced graphics such as texture mapping are ideal for mapping anomaly informations to three-dimensional geometry, where the majority of the data for interpretation are obtained. The integration of advanced visualization software with surface modelling, mesh generation, mechanical analysis software and NDT hardware will improve overall design process to a great extent.
