Abstract
The reaction of 2 equiv of LiNH(t-Bu) with [Cy2GaCl]2 (Cy = cyclohexyl) produces the gallate complex Li(THF)2(μ-NH(t-Bu))2GaCy2 (1). The reaction of 2 equiv of Li(3,5-Me2Pz) (Pz = pyrazolyl) with [Cy2GaCl]2 produces the gallate species MgCl(THF)2(μ-3,5-Me2Pz)2GaCy2(2). An X-ray structural study shows that the amide ligands for 1 and 2 bridge from the Ga atom to Li+ and MgCl+, respectively.
