Abstract

The reaction of 2 equiv of LiNH(t-Bu) with [Cy₂GaCl]₂ (Cy = cyclohexyl) produces the gallate complex Li(THF)₂(μ-NH(t-Bu))₂GaCy₂ (1). The reaction of 2 equiv of Li(3,5-Me₂Pz) (Pz = pyrazolyl) with [Cy₂GaCl]₂ produces the gallate species MgCl(THF)₂(μ-3,5-Me₂Pz)₂GaCy₂(2). An X-ray structural study shows that the amide ligands for 1 and 2 bridge from the Ga atom to Li⁺ and MgCl⁺, respectively.
