Abstract
Performance textiles of different chemistries were washed and dried together to determine the effects on functional and aesthetic characteristics. The textiles in the load included antimicrobial, stain repel, stain release, moisture management, and ultraviolet (UV) protection functions. Garments were exposed to repeated wash and dry cycles to examine the effect of care and maintenance, with the primary variable being the combined load factor. The performance garments were evaluated prior to laundering and after selected cycles, with a maximum of 20 launderings.
