Abstract
The importance of establishing computational bioengineering as an area of study is argued here. It is believed that a systematic study of computational bioengineering will not only help address many critical challenges facing bioengineering and biomedical engineering but also set a new direction for advancing the field. As a stepping stone, this book is expected to foster integrative learning and thinking in students and practitioners for the generation of new options and novel solutions to solve bioengineering problems in academic research and industrial research and development activities. A brief summary of all the bioengineering problems discussed in this book is given to guide the readers.
