Abstract
Polarized microscopy and digital image analysis were used to assess collagen organization in bone biopsies from patients receiving sinus augmentation. Picrosirius red staining revealed a significantly higher collagen I to III ratio in SCPC alloplast-grafted bone compared to Bio-Oss xenograft-grafted bone, indicating enhanced bone maturation.
