Abstract
Application of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) technique in bioanalysis are reviewed with 53 references. The review begins with a summary of Förster' s theory, and some of the most commonly used experimental strategy, including the selection of donor-acceptor couple, labeling methods and the detection of energy transfer efficiency. The application of FRET in the study of the structure and function of biological macromolecules, in immunoassay and in DNA hybridization assay are discussed in subsequent sections. Finally, the prospects for the future application of this technique is conducted.
