Abstract
In this paper we present a second-order accurate Finite Volume scheme for computing free surface flows. To overcome the limitation of the standard explicit schemes, a multigrid technique has been coupled to the numerical approach. The present effort has been motivated by the recognition that the time step in the explicit computation is very small, because of stability constraints. The effect of coupling a multigrid approach on the steady-state solution is numerically investigated. The present formulation is tested on a range of two-dimensional flows, paving the way for its potential application to larger magnitude problem.
