Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of rigid-body attitude control using vibrating internal-momentum actuators. We consider a free rigid body with momentum-wheel actuators that are driven by small (ϵ) amplitude piecewise sinusoidal internal torques. A second-order approximation of the rigid body rotational motion on SO(3) is derived.
