Averaged Adaptive Cross Approximation with Schur Complement Decomposition

Abstract

A modified form of the adaptive cross approximation (ACA) was proposed for certain structured matrices for which the original ACA fails. The formulation of the modified ACA algorithm is reconsidered, and a new inversion method based on the Schur Complement decomposition is presented.
